Teagan came to the studio 4 days after Christmas for hew newborn session, she was the best little sleeper. When clients schedule a newborn session I send them a questionnaire so I can get to know them. I want to be prepared when they arrive to my studio the day of the session. I want to know what colors they would like incorporated into the session, what colors they would like me to avoid and so forth. For sweet little Teagan’s session mom and dad shared that they love the Washington Capitals so if we could add blue and red into a set up that would be awesome. Let me tell you, Red is gorgeous on her and I am so glad mom and dad requested it.
Joe (Teagan’s dad) is a firefighter, he brought his gear and Teagan was such a good sleeper she never even woke up when she was snuggled in dads helmet. He shared that he was excited to print the photos and put them on his locker like the other guys at work.
When my clients walk into my studio it is just second nature for me to introduce myself and then I explain how I will be like a babysitter the next 2 hours. I am all about asking for help when I need it, but I really just want parents to sit, relax, and take it all in. I mean sometimes dads are so cozy they even tend to fall asleep on the sofa. I want them to watch me as I work and to love the set ups I put together for their session.
Caitlin & Joe walked into my studio and were complete strangers, but the time they left we learned so much about one another.
Thank you for trusting me to capture these special moments Caitlin & Joe. I look forward to photographing your family in the future & can’t wait to watch Teagan grow up.
Amazing work as always Julie!
Thank you Rob!
